Mosharraf Karim withdraw the award National film Award 2018

Mosharraf Karim, who won the National film Award 2018 as the Best Actor in a Comic Role for the film ‘Komola Rocket’, has requested the jury board to withdraw the award saying the award does not fit in the category.”It’s my request to the respected jury to withdraw the award allotted to me for the role of Mafizur which can in no way fall into the comic category. It is one of the central roles of the film,” said the popular actor.

“Otherwise, it will be impossible for me to accept the award,” said Mosharraf who is now staying in Malaysia.

He, however, told Prothom Alo, “Comic roles, to me, are as important as any other ones. But, the role I played in ‘Komola Rocket’ can never be termed a comic role.”

Mosharraf Karim“The screenplay writer, filmmaker, cast and crew of the film as well as the viewers would agree with me,” he added. Mosharraf for ‘Komola Rocket’ (2018) and Afzal Sharif for ‘Pobitro Bhalobasha’ (2018) were declared the National Film Award-2018 winners for Best Actor in a Comic Role on 7 November.
